When you ask me, what am I grateful for, I would say I am grateful for this precious human life, for the amazing and selfless teachers, for the loving family and friends, for a beautiful home, for clean water, for healthy food, for freedom and for peace. We all contemplate in some ways on gratitude, thankfulness and appreciation around this time of the year or maybe every day.

Shiatsu, the Five Elements and their effects

Shiatsu is not just a form of bodywork originating from Japan, but an attitude and philosophy. The life energy of the body (called Chi or Ki) is balanced with deep and gentle thumb, ball of the hand, elbow and forearm pressure. I work on my clothed body on a soft mat on the floor.

Joy & Harmony through Balance

In Japanese Zen-Shiatsu and TCM we work with the five elements, observing nature and the aspects of our own life. Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water are in connection with the seasons and help us diagnose where is imbalance in our physical-, mental and spiritual nature.
